Designed by Verner Panton back in 1960, the Panton Chair is a furniture design classic. Together with Vitra, he developed a version that was ready for series production by 1967. The very first single mould all plastic chair, the Panton Chair has undergone several production phases since its market launch. Not until today has it been possible to produce it in line with Panton’s original idea – namely from tough plastic that is consistently dyed with a matt surface. The chair is shaped to the human form and offers great sitting comfort thanks to its cantilever base and flexible materials. Its sculptural shape means that it looks good by itself or grouped together.
The Panton Chair has won various design prizes world-wide and graces the collections of numerous renowned museums. Its expressive shape makes it a true 20th-century design icon.
