A comment on a recent posts was that there are now so many names for colours that we can scarcely keep up. This reminded me of my friend Chaz, whose favourite colour is Chartreuse. It is nothing short of spectacular.
It is one of those colours that is hard to categorise – not quite yellow and not quite green. Less saturated than lime, but not quite as dark as olive, Chartreuse takes its name from the liqueur, a herbal concoction with a distinctive taste to match its unusual color. Vibrant and fresh, it fits with all design styles and combines beautifully with a range of colours. Much like pink, it is one of those colours you’ll either love or hate!

Your examples of chartreuse are spot-on, where they are neither yellow nor green but at times both. Some of the fabrics actually went from yellow to green as the lighting determined. I’m one of those who loves both chartreuse & pink, even together. I really like chartreuse with grey, as shown beautifully in one of your photos. My very favorite color is black, so if I don’t like a room’s hues I can just turn off all the lights and be with my favorite color!
Interesting, I didn’t know it was named after the liqueur.
